I joined the Vigor’s environment team after the release of Argo in summer 2017. I quickly adapted to Unreal Engine 4 because of my previous experiences with the engine. My work was focused on creating levels, placeholders for new models and cooperation with artists. We released six maps for 1.0 version and more maps are in work that we will release in the future updates.
- Level design – from concept to final version, placeholders for new models, optimization
- Analytics – pipeline, visualization in QGIS, data on demand for our team
- … and of course, playtesting and giving feedback
On top of level design, I decided to push for level analytics again. I established the pipeline for QGIS data, which later showed not sufficient for such a large project. The company hired a programmer dedicated to analytics and I closely cooperate with him to achieve desired results. This solution allowed us to automatize the process and create necessary outputs directly in Unreal Engine 4.
Vigor is available as a free to play title on Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4. We released the 1.0 version on August 19, 2019. The game is developed by Brno office of Bohemia Interactive and is powered by Unreal Engine 4.
